C is for Contactless Payments

How does it work?

Contactless payment  systems are credit cards and debit cards with the  symbol on the front, and smartphones, that use radio-frequency identification (RFID) or near field communication (NFC), e.g. Apple Pay™, Android Pay™, and Fitbit Pay™, for making secure payments.

If you’re using a Contactless payment method you simply wave your card or handheld device over a reading device at the point-of-sale terminal. You’ll get a quick confirmation that payment has been accepted, and that’s it. Shopping done!

Transactions done this way can be a lot faster than using conventional cash, credit, or debit card purchase. Because no signature or PIN verification is typically required, contactless purchases are typically limited to under €30.
Getting started on using contactless transactions is very straightforward.
To activate it on your new card, first complete a Chip & PIN or ATM transaction and then you’re ready to start!

With an Apple iPhone you just add your debit or personal credit card to your Apple Pay Wallet and follow the on screen instructions.
If you’ve got an Android mobile go to the google play store to get the Android Pay App. Add your debit or personal credit card to it and follow the simple on screen instructions.
