: “We wanted to give our amazing followers and attendees something to look forward to, and we thought it would be a nice way to mark the dates when the festival was originally due to take place. We have been working hard with our partners KBC to create Wellfest live.
“This is the first year we have an official charity partner, and we are delighted to be working with Barretstown. It’s a really tough time for charities at the moment, as all fundraising events have had to be cancelled. So, while this is a completely free event, we are hoping that anyone who is in a financial position to do so might give a small donation to Barretstown.
“The presenters that we have lined up have been amazing and really generous with their time, as well as innovative with how they’re going to bring their offering to the online event. We’re really excited to bring all of these amazing people together and create a little bit of the WellFest magic for people at home, while supporting a great cause.”
Aidan Power, Director of Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs at KBC, said:
“At KBC, we are delighted to be able to bring WellFest Live to the community on Instagram live. As people continue to navigate this new normal, wellbeing has never been so important and initiatives like this are crucial to lift spirits and bring people together online. We are really looking forward to WellFest Live and the strong line up announced.”
“This year we also expanded our KBC Wellgood programme which is now a ten week free online programme that includes a podcast series of interviews with health, wellbeing and fitness experts as well as guided video tutorials. Over the past few weeks we have seen high levels of engagement for the Wellgood programme as more and more people tune in online to stay active while staying safe at home and we are delighted to be able to bring such programmes to our customers and the community at times like this.”
WellFest LIVE will mark the dates that WellFest 2020 was due to take place, prior to being postponed due to restrictions in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The main WellFest 2020 event is now scheduled to take place on 26th
September 2020 at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8.
