KBC Bank launches Irish Early Career Awards Bursary for young entrepreneurs

KBC Bank, Ireland’s digital first bank, today announced its platinum sponsorship of the Irish Early Career Awards, for a second year running. The awards recognise the achievements of young professionals in Ireland and reward innovation and best practice across a broad range of industries. As part of the sponsorship, the bank also announced the launch of the KBC Early Career Bursary, a fund designed to support young entrepreneurs.

The KBC Early Career Bursary winner will be selected from the Entrepreneur of the Year category entrants. The winner will be decided by KBC judges, including, Darragh Lennon, Director of Distribution at KBC Bank, who will also judge the overall winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year category. The bursary will include €1,500 in cash for the winner, in addition to a dedicated KBC business banking package and a dedicated relationship manager.

KBC Bank Ireland’s Director of Customer, Brand & Marketing, Aidan Power, said: “This is the second year that KBC has partnered with the Irish Early Career Awards and we are, once again, delighted to support as platinum sponsor. At KBC, we understand the importance of nurturing young talent and our sponsorship of the Early Career awards allows us to celebrate blossoming talent and support those who have made a significant impact in their chosen industry at a young age.”

“This year, we are going one step further in our bid to support Ireland’s young talent by launching the KBC Early Career Bursary. Through the bursary, we want to recognise the achievements of an early stage entrepreneur and support them as they embark on their career in their chosen field. The winner will be selected from Entrepreneur of the Year category entrants, so we would encourage any young entrepreneurs thinking about entering the Irish Early Career Awards, to consider it,” he added.

This year there are 16 awards in total, with KBC sponsoring the ‘Best in Learning and Development’ award. The award, which will be judged by Maeve MacEnri, Director of Human Resources at KBC Bank, seeks to highlight the exceptional efforts made by organisations in Ireland in relation to training and development practices for young professionals.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts representing top global and Irish companies and leading organisations across Ireland. Nominations close on Sunday, 30th September 2018, with the full list of finalists announced in October. The awards will take place in the Mansion House, Dublin, on November 1st, 2018.
