What's happening?
KBCI no longer offers Insurance to its customers. Existing policy holders will continue to have their policy underwritten by and managed by Zurich Insurance plc (“Zurich Insurance”). Your policy will be managed directly by Zurich Insurance. There will be no change to the terms of your current insurance cover. You do not need to take any action. What to expect...
We have written to KBC customers advising that as of the 17th October 2022 insurance policies will be managed by Zurich Insurance.
Why did I receive a second letter from KBC regarding my Insurance policy?
We have amended the date as to when correspondence will now issue from Zurich Insurance. This date has changed from the 12th September to the 17th October 2022. Apart from the date change, all other information in the letter below remains unchanged. You do not need to take any action as a result of this change.

My Policy


What will happen to my insurance policy?

If you have an Insurance policy, this will continue to be underwritten and administered by Zurich Insurance on the same terms and conditions as before. As a result there are no changes to your policy and you do not need to take any actions.  

If your Insurance policy is due for renewal shortly you will receive your renewal documents from Zurich Insurance 4 weeks before your renewal date. This document will include the renewal price and outline the terms of the policy for the coming 12 months along with payment methods to renew your insurance policy with Zurich.

What role does Zurich Insurance play in my policy?

Zurich are the underwriter for your policy. 

What impact will this transfer have on my current discount/premium?

Any discount applied on your current policy along with your current premium will not be impacted. 

Will I still be eligible for loyalty offers on my Home Insurance Renewal policy?

You will receive your renewal documents directly from Zurich Insurance nearer to the time your policy is due for renewal. If you are an Extra Current Account holder, regardless of whether you still retain that Extra Current Account with KBCI at the time of your renewal, you will receive the 10% Extra Current Account KBC Home Insurance loyalty offer at the time of your next renewal.  All subsequent renewals will be managed directly by Zurich Insurance.

I have a query regarding a refund which was due on my policy that I didn’t receive, who should I contact?

If you need to make a change or have a query with your policy please contact the Zurich Customer Service Team at (053) 9157775 or email customerhelp@zurich.ie

What impact will this transfer have on my No Claims Bonus? 

There will be no impact on your No Claims Bonus.    

Will there be additional fees or charges to my Insurance policy? 

No, there will be no additional fees or charges to your policy.

My Home policy is due for renewal shortly, what should I expect?

You will receive your renewal documents from Zurich Insurance 4 weeks before your renewal date. This document will include the renewal price and outline the terms of the policy for the coming 12 months along with payment methods to renew your insurance policy with Zurich Insurance. How do I pay for my Home Renewal policy?

If you currently pay for your policy by Direct Debit, your monthly payment will continue to be taken, so no change is required.  If you change your Bank Details at a later stage, you will be required to contact Zurich Insurance and provide your new bank details in order for your Direct Debit payments to continue.  To pay in full by debit card, please call the Zurich Customer Service Team on (053) 9157775.

I have submitted a claim on my Home policy, will this be impacted?

There will be no impact to your claim. Zurich Insurance currently manage all claims and will continue to do so in the future. You can call Zurich’s  24 hour claims helpline (01) 6091436 or email: claimsnotification@zurich.ie.

I have a query regarding a refund which was due on my policy that I didn’t receive, who should I contact?

To discuss a refund, you can contact the Zurich Customer Service Team on (053) 9157775 or alternatively you can email the Zurich Customer Support Team on customersupport@zurich.ie.
