Our Online Banking service uses “cookie” technology. Cookies are small pieces of information, stored in simple text files, placed on your computer by a website. Cookies can be read by the website on your subsequent visits so that you can access information in a faster and more efficient way.

The information stored in a cookie may relate to your browsing habits on the web page, or a unique identification number so that the website can "remember" you on your return visit. KBC Bank Ireland will use cookies to facilitate your use of the Online Banking service, where KBC Bank Ireland has agreed to give you access to that service. You can set your browser to reject cookies, however if you reject our cookies, this will affect your ability to use the Online Banking service.


Online Banking uses Javascript. If your browser does not support Javascript, or if it is disabled, this will affect your ability to use the Online Banking service.

Encrypted Website with SSL Certificates

KBC Bank Ireland takes the security of our systems very seriously and we utilise encryption to provide the necessary privacy and confidentiality to our customers.

Our security policies require that all customer access uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol, commonly referred to as SSL Encryption. The encryption technology provides one function:
It scrambles the details of your session so that it cannot be viewed by anyone else along the way.

How do I ensure that SSL is working?

Our web servers will automatically switch your access from HTTP to HTTPS when required. When this happens you should be able to see a yellow lock icon, either to the right of the website address (Internet Explorer) or in the status bar (Firefox) at the bottom. This provides the highest level of authenticity possible that you are on the KBC Bank Ireland website.

Screen resolution

The Online Banking service requires a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater.  If your computer does not support this resolution, it may affect your ability to use the Online Banking service.

Use of the browser Back button

Use of the BACK button has been disabled to help protect against unauthorised access.

Windows XP Users

After April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP from Microsoft will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect your PC. Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date. If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.
