New app delivers on customer feedback creating an unrivalled banking experience
KBC Bank Ireland, Ireland’s digital-first bank, has today announced the launch of a new innovative app. The app developed with feedback from consumers further strengthens the evolution of KBC into a digital-first customer-centric bank. The range of new, first to market features grow KBC’s always-on 24/7 accessibility.
The new app creates an unrivalled banking experience with a range of market first digital capabilities designed to meet customers’ needs. The new features include Instant Credit Card, Digital Personal Loans and a new first to market Lost/Stolen instant card replacement service. These new features are experienced by customers through a market-leading user interface and experience. The app’s official launch follows intensive consumer listening and research with KBC consumers and staff providing a unique comprehensive multi-banking experience.

The key feature of the app is a leading, market first digital card services proposition which offers our customers with a range of new features. With KBC’s Instant Credit Card customers can apply for and receive a digital credit card within one hour. The credit card will have a new PAN (Primary Account Number) and CVC reveal feature that means customers can access their card details without having to reach for a physical card.
All customers will receive a digitally provisioned card which allows Debit Visa transactions up to €2,500 and Credit Card transactions up to €10,000. Thanks to the enhanced card services, common banking needs like travel notifications, lost or stolen card, and PIN reissues can all be managed through the app.
First to Market – Instant Card Replacement
The Lost/Stolen feature which launches in full by mid-September is unique to the Irish market and allows customers to block their card and apply for and receive an instant digital card replacement on the app. Customers can then make purchases with their replacement card up to the daily limits of their card.
Eddie Dillon continues: “No matter what time of day or night customers will no longer be inconvenienced by losing their card. Customers can instantly apply for a replacement which will go into their digital wallet and continue to make purchases hassle free.”
These new capabilities follow the launch of a first to market Digital Personal Loan service. Customers digitally apply and receive a decision with funds available within one hour. The app is also supported by KBC’s always on customer support which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Facebook, Twitter, phone, chat and email.
Dillon continued: “The new features and design of the app have been introduced with the customer in mind. Over the last year we have introduced frequent market leading enhancements to the app and have added over 63,000 new accounts over this period. We have been listening to our existing and new customers and have redesigned the app to suit their needs. With a brand new look and feel, we are once again redefining and leading the way in best in class user experience for banking. It will be even easier for our customers to begin using and benefitting from features that no other bank in Ireland can offer.”
