KBC Bank Ireland have appointed Ms. Lavinia Morris as the incoming Chief Operations Officer succeeding Tom De Witte who will be taking up another senior role in KBC Group in September.
A native of Galway, Ms. Morris brings a wealth of senior IT, Technology and Operations experience with her to the bank. She joins KBC Bank Ireland from SMBC Aviation Capital, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, where she holds the position of Senior Vice President of Information and Technology. Prior to joining SMBC in 2014, Ms. Morris held various senior Technology and Operations positions in Friends First Group, Fujitsu Consulting and AIB.
Ms. Morris is actively involved in the technology industry in Ireland, serving as a Steering Committee member for the Technology Ireland Innovation Forum, Committee Member of the Blockchain International Standards Committee as well as Blockchain Ireland, and former Chair of the Cloud Computing Working Group of the Irish Internet Association. She was also the Runner-up CIO of the Year in the Women in Technology Awards in 2018.
