KBC picks up the pace to partner with Night Run

KBC Bank Ireland has today announced it will become the title sponsor for this year’s Night Run, Dublin – Ireland’s longest-running 10K night race which takes place on Sunday, 22nd April 2018.

Now in its seventh year, Night Run offers participants the unique opportunity to run a flat, fast course through the streets of the capital after dark.

The official route will see runners set off at 9.00pm from North Wall Quay outside the Convention Centre Dublin, where they will pass the iconic Custom’s House, before crossing to City Quay and taking in a loop around Grand Canal Square before weaving through the Docklands communities of Ringsend and Irishtown crossing the River Liffey to finish back on North Wall Quay.

Runners of all abilities and ages are welcome to take part, and every participant receives a new reflective premium technical race top to wear on the night, as well as a goodie bag and finisher’s medal. The race is chip timed, allowing returning runners to benchmark their performance on previous years, and new participants to record their progress. There will also be music and entertainment enroute, giving runners an added energy boost!

The new partnership is the latest addition to KBC’s growing sponsorship of bespoke health and wellbeing events in Ireland. KBC recently confirmed it was partnering with Ireland's only health and wellness festival, Wellfest, as the lead sponsor for the second consecutive year, with Davina McCall and Joe Wicks aka The Body Coach announced as headliners at the event in May.
Aidan Power, Director of Customer, Brand & Marketing, KBC Bank Ireland, said: “KBC is delighted to partner with Night Run as title sponsor for 2018 and this unique event is one of those iconic races in the Irish running calendar. Health and wellbeing is also becoming more and more important for everyone and the night run is the perfect race for runners of all abilities to take part. With Night Run, participants get the chance to take back the streets of the capital for one night only on a fast-paced 10K course that will challenge, entertain and reward runners taking part. We look forward to seeing a ‘sea of blue’ this year in Dublin on the 22nd of April and celebrating with everyone at the finish line.

Declan Byrne, Managing Director, TITAN Experience, said “As Night Run Dublin continues to grow, we are delighted to partner with KBC in 2018 for our 7th edition of the event.  The Night Run is about our participants having a fun and unique health and fitness experience on closed roads in the heart of Dublin city. With start line pyrotechnics, on course entertainment and a premium technical t-shirt, the event is the stand out 10k in the Irish market. The event couldn’t happen without the ongoing support of the city stakeholders - Dublin City Council, the Gardai and transport authorities especially.”

The entry fee is €35 per person and participants have 80 minutes to complete the route.
