KBC Bank Ireland and MyHome.ie first to launch mobile virtual video house viewings

Pilot scheme to let house buyers take 360 degree tour of homes for sale

KBC Bank Ireland has launched a new digital partnership with MyHome.ie to allow house hunters to take a virtual tour of properties up for sale.
During a pilot scheme, would-be house buyers will be able to watch 360-degree videos of up to 20 houses on the market on their mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer from the comfort of their own home or while they are on the move.
This is the first time a bank will give prospective buyers in the Irish property market the chance to “view” a house up close from their personal device.
From today several homes, which are being brought to market by estate agents DNG, can be viewed on your device through KBC’s YouTube channel and the MyHome.ie mobile siteA mix of properties, from starter homes to large family homes, will be featured online until the properties are sold.
Caroline Donnellan, Head of Marketing Communications, KBC Bank Ireland, said: “This initiative is perfect for house hunters who want the convenience of viewing a house on the market before they see it and especially those who can’t attend a viewing because of work or family commitments.
“Now house hunters can take a virtual tour of a house that’s on the market while they are at home or commuting to work.
“If you are viewing a house on your mobile phone, laptop or desktop, you will be able to see each room in 360 degrees.
“This latest initiative highlights KBC’s ongoing investment and innovation in both the digital and mortgage market.”
Angela Keeganwith MyHome.ie, said this will bring an added focus to properties on open view the following weekend.
“The virtual viewings will be given top location in the ‘Open Viewings' section of MyHome.ie on mobile and will allow users to click through to get a 360 degree view of each room in the selected property,”.
“KBC has teamed up with estate agents DNG to determine what properties are featured and they will also be promoted through our various social media channels.”
The house viewings are designed for those planning on buying their first or new home. KBC also hosts a series of educational seminars to help consumers looking for more information on the mortgage process. The ‘KBC Mortgage Lounge’ was launched earlier this year in response to a strong level of enquiries from First Time Buyers looking for information regarding all aspects of buying a home. KBC has a range of competitive mortgage offers as well as some of the lowest rates on the market when you open a kbc current account and is available for first time buyersmovers and switchers.
