What's happening?
This means that KBCI will no longer offer Insurance to its customers, but your Insurance policy will continue to be underwritten by Zurich Insurance plc (“Zurich Insurance”). Your policy will be managed directly by Zurich Insurance. There will be no change to the terms of your current insurance cover. You do not need to take any action. What to expect...
After the 15th July, KBC will no longer offer New policies to our customers.
Why did I receive a second letter from KBC regarding my Insurance policy?
We have amended the date as to when correspondence will now issue from Zurich. This date has changed from the 12th September to the 17th October 2022. Apart from the date change, all other information in the letter below remains unchanged. You do not need to take any action as a result of this change.

My Policy


What will happen to my Insurance policy?

If you have an Insurance policy, this will continue to be underwritten and administered by Zurich Insurance on the same terms and conditions as before. As a result there are no changes to your policy and you do not need to take any actions.  

If your Insurance is due for renewal shortly you will receive your renewal documents from Zurich Insurance 4 weeks before your renewal date. This document will include the renewal price and outline the terms of the policy for the coming 12 months along with payment methods to renew your insurance policy with Zurich.

Your Car Insurance policy will be unaffected and will be fulfilled and serviced by Zurich Insurance. For now, you do not need to take any action. Customers will at all times continue to be afforded all the relevant legal and regulatory protections.

What impact will this have on my current discount/premium?

Any discount applied on your current policy along with your current premium will not be impacted.

What impact will this transfer have on my No Claims Discount? 

There will be no impact on your No Claims Discount.

No, there will be no additional fees or charges to your policy.

 

My Car Insurance policy is due for renewal shortly, what should I expect?

How do I pay for my Car Renewal policy?

If you currently pay for your policy by Direct Debit, your monthly payment will continue to be taken, so no change is required.  If you change your Bank Details at a later stage, you will be required to contact Zurich Insurance and provide your new bank details in order for your Direct Debit payments to continue.  To pay in full by debit card, please call the Zurich Customer Service Team on (053) 9157775.

 

I have submitted a claim on my Car policy, will this be impacted?

There will be no impact to your claim. Zurich currently manage all claims and will continue to do so in the future. You can call Zurich’s  24 hour claims helpline (01) 6091436 or email: claimsnotification@zurich.ie.

 

I have a query regarding a refund which was due on my policy that I didn’t receive, who should I contact?

Important Information about your Car Insurance

  • Up to 55% No Claims Discount.

    Personal Effects cover up to €550 - Protect your personal belongings e.g. handbag, clothing, sports equipment and childcare accessories (applies to fully comprehensive policies only).

    Stepback Protected No Claims Bonus - Your bonus is fully protected against fire, windscreen & theft claims. You only lose 2 years no claims bonus for other claims (applies up to a maximum 5-year NCB). Front, back and side windows are covered as standard on the comprehensive car insurance policies and is available as an optional extra on third party fire and theft policies.

    New for Old Replacement Car - If your car is written off or stolen and not recovered, within 12 months of the date it was registered as new by you, you'll get a brand new one.

    Courtesy Car - Up to a max. 7 day period & up to a Class B category vehicle (1.2 petrol engine) after an accident where a claim is open and an approved repairer is used.
  • Bonus is fully protected against Windscreen breakage. Any one Fire & Theft claim will not affect your no claims bonus at the next renewal however the no claims discount percentage will not increment at the next renewal. In the event of two or more claims of any type (except Windscreen claims) arising in one year of insurance, no discount will be allowed at the following renewal.
  • Only applicable if your car is stolen and not recovered or damaged to an extent greater than 60% of the manufacturer’s list price at time of change and has not travelled more than 24,000 Kilometres.
  • Courtesy car up to a maximum 7 day period and up to Class B category vehicle (1.2 Petrol engine), if your vehicle is damaged and being repaired by one of the approved repairers, provided such damage is recoverable under your policy. If your vehicle has been damaged beyond economical repair or has been stolen and not yet recovered, provided such damage is recoverable under your policy, we will arrange for a replacement courtesy car up to a maximum of 10 days. Refer to your policy document for full terms and conditions in relation to this benefit.
