KBC Bank Ireland has confirmed it is to become the official bank partner of Dublin Tech Summit and Dublin Tech Week, which runs from 16-20 April 2018.
Now in its second year, Europe’s fastest growing tech summit takes place at the Convention Centre Dublin (18-19 April), bringing together 10,000 leaders in innovation, business and technology to help shape the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Innovation, Fintech, Cyber Security, MUSICXTech and Cloud Computing.
On April 18th, KBC’s Director of Innovation, Eddie Dillon, will take to the Future Stage at the Summit as part of a panel discussion examining “the evolution of Fintech”, including insights from KBC’s journey to becoming Ireland’s newest retail bank with award-winning digital and mobile developments driven by fintech collaboration.
This year’s Dublin Tech Summit has also been extended to include a new event called Dublin Tech Week (DTW). Dublin Tech Week is the city’s newest Technology, Arts and Science festival that will see a diverse programme of events hosted across Dublin to celebrate, ranging from awards and start-up showcases, to hackathons, cultural and night-time events.
As part of the Dublin Tech Week schedule, on April 17th KBC will host a sold out Women In Tech event at KBC’s Innovation Hub featuring guest speakers, a panel discussion and Q&A on the topic of mentoring women, bridging the gender gap and empowering women in tech to succeed. The event, known as Stepping Up, is a joint initiative of Harvey Nash and Girls in Tech.
Eddie Dillon, Director of Innovation, KBC Bank Ireland, said: “KBC is delighted to be partnering with Dublin Tech Summit and Dublin Tech Week, and to share our story as part of this fantastic programme of events. As the digital frontrunner for the KBC Group, it’s KBC’s ambition to revolutionise customers’ experience of retail banking for the modern age. We’re doing that from our Innovation Hub right here in Dublin, using fintech to develop innovative solutions that are first to market, and capable of evolving banking into a more intuitive, integrated and always-on experience for our customers. We look forward to meeting everyone at the Summit and surrounding events, including at KBC’s Innovation Hub over the coming weeks.”
William Brightling, Dublin Tech Summit, said: "Dublin Tech Summit is proud to recognise KBC as our Official Banking Partner for 2018. KBC bank has been the forefront of Fintech innovation and digital transformation in the Irish banking landscape and sector, and the strong alignment between DTS18 themes of Innovation, Fintech, IoT, and Sustainability and KBC's core offerings and strategy has resulted in a synergistic partnership which we are very excited about".
