KBC brings WellFest Summer Tour to Galway

20/06/19

On Saturday the 8th of June KBC brought WellFest to Galway on its summer 2019 tour.

The event was hosted in Salthill Park and saw over 500 health, fitness and wellness inspired visitors at the sold out event. Ireland’s most prominent health & fitness advocates took to the stage to spread their wisdom and facilitate a number of fitness workshops.
The day began with Brian O’Loughlin of Movement 101, who provided a mobility workshop. Brian emphasises the importance of mobility training and the crowd learned exercises that they can incorporate into their own workouts with benefits such as lower chance of injury, keeping the joints healthy and strengthening movements.

Tom Dalton, the founder of TD Fitness, hosted a ‘Bodyweight HIIT’ session which certainly got the crowd sweating. Tom’s energetic personality is infectious, which created a lively, fun atmosphere. At 11.30am, the Pilates fans enjoyed a strenuous class with Milena Jaksic Byrne, the founder of Platinum Pilates.

The afternoon saw a panel discussion with bestselling cookery author, PT and social influencer, Roz Purcell, Ireland’s leading personal trainer, broadcaster, bestselling author and host of The Real Health podcast, Karl Henry and pharmacist & integrated wellness and nutritional coach, Miriam Hussey.

The three panellists shared their insights on all things health, nutrition and wellness, with the audience finding them inspiring and engaging. Another panel discussion followed with The Coaching Circle who promoted self-care, self-belief & resilience.

To wind the day down and close the event, Lee Tracey shared her love for yoga, meditation and mindfulness in her Slow Yoga Flow & Meditation class.

If you didn’t get to make it to Galway, or even if you did, the last stop of the KBC WellFest Summer tour is in Cork at the Cork Show Grounds on July 6th. Another jammed packed day of classes and discussions are planned, with limited availability. Tickets are found on wellfest.ie
