KBC Bank Ireland Extends Deadline for New Community Support Initiative to 30th May 2014

KBC’s Bright Ideas for Better Communities.

KBC Bank Ireland launched the inaugural ‘KBC Bright Ideas’ community initiative on the 31st March 2014, a scheme that allows local communities to source funding for innovative projects.  Due to the high level of interest in the funding KBC have extended the deadline for applications to Friday the 30th May 2014.
KBC Bright Ideas is aimed at individuals and organisations located in KBC’s hub cities of Dublin, Limerick, Galway and Cork who want to transform, improve or revolutionise their communities through creative ideas.
Bright Ideas offers the opportunity to apply for funding for innovative projects from an overall pool of €20,000 per KBC hub. Entries are accepted through an online application form that requires entrants to submit their innovative ideas, explain why the idea would transform their community and describe how the money will be invested.
Applications are provided to a panel of local judges in each of the local KBC hubs. The judging panel will review the application and award an allocation of funding to deserving projects. Ideas must be for innovative projects that will help transform a local community.
Commenting on the new Bright Ideas initiative, Aidan Power, Head of Brand and Marketing, KBC Bank Ireland said: “Bright Ideas is aimed at people or organisations doing something different, creative and fresh. The many applications we have received to date show how this funding can help to transform and improve local communities through worthwhile, innovative projects. We have already received many great ideas so the judging will be competitive and due to the level of interest we have decided to extend the deadline. As the ‘Bank of You’, we want to hear from people who are really pushing the boundaries and thinking outside the box in terms of their concepts.”
Applications for the awards can be submitted online through www.kbcbrightideas.com. The new closing date for applications is 30th May 2014.
