KBC Bank Announces Sponsorship of Waterford Walls

KBC sponsorship will support the work of professional graffiti artist, Mr Cenz at the International Street Art Festival

KBC Bank Ireland today announced the sponsorship of international street art festival, Waterford Walls. The festival, which is now in its fourth year, will transform Waterford City into an open-air gallery featuring murals created by renowned Irish and international street artists.

This year, more than 50 artists will travel to Waterford, transforming buildings and derelict spaces creating large scale murals across the city and cementing the city’s reputation as an international go-to street art destination from the 17th to the 26th of August.
KBC’s sponsorship will specifically support the work of professional graffiti artist, Mr Cenz.

Growing up in London, Mr Cenz was influenced by the emergence of hip-hop culture and graffiti art and in 1988 he was commissioned to create his first mural at the age of 11. He has continued to experiment with his art and his distinctive work can be seen on streets in locations across the world, especially in his hometown of London.

Amber Young, Hub Manager, KBC Bank Waterford said: “Waterford Walls is a very unique festival with a reputation for excellence among urban and graffiti artists across the world. Since its launch in 2014 the festival has propelled the city onto the international stage positioning it at the centre of the street art scene.
At KBC, community is at the core of all that we do and so we are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Waterford Walls festival which will help to further enhance the surroundings of Waterford city creating a unique environment for people to live and visit

During the festival from Aug 23rd to 26th, Mr Cenz will be creating art on the walls of our KBC Hub on High Street and we would look forward to seeing locals and visitors alike calling to see his art up close.”
