KBC Bank Ireland appoints former Agriculture Secretary General as Non-Executive Director
November 5th 2009: KBC Bank Ireland is pleased to announce that John Malone, former secretary general of the Department of Agriculture and Food has joined the Board as a non-executive director.
KBC Bank is one of the leading providers of financial services in Ireland. The bank provides a broad range of business and personal banking services and holds a 10% share of the mortgage market. In the first six months of 2009, the Bank reported profits of €42 million.
Originally from Co. Tipperary, Mr. Malone served as secretary general of the Department of Agriculture and Food between 1997 and 2005 and was involved in all the major developments in agriculture during that time. Mr. Malone has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee in the Taoiseach’s Department for the past 3 years and has recently been appointed to the Audit Committee in the Comptroller and Auditor General’s Office.
